PQ DVD software provides easy–to–use conversion software. It is also easy navigate and the all–in–one layout allows you to convert DVD and video from the same window.

Each time we tested its output quality, PQ DVD converted video files and DVDs with impeccable quality. The video and audio were in sync every time, the picture was clear and the colors were bright and vivid.

The speed of conversion was a little quicker for video files than for DVDs, but both were considerably quicker than the time it would take to actually watch the movie.

The only downfall we see with this software is the inability to select a chain of episodes and leave the software to do it's work. On a disk with several episodes, like television shows, you must rip each episode individually, there is no "select all" feature.

Features Set:  

Just about any feature you might need to perfect your conversion can be found on PQ DVD. Stretch, shrink or crop the picture to the perfect size; manually adjust the video and audio quality; and preview the video before you begin conversion. You can batch convert, which means you can select several jobs to convert and then go to bed; however, this only works with home videos. If you try to convert a series of episodes, like in a TV series, you can not do a batch rip. You have to rip each episode individually.  

In addition to top conversion tools, PQ DVD offers a FREE iPhone Unlock Toolkit. With one click, you can unlock an iPhone and use it as a PDA and iPod without signing up for the AT&T service plan.

Ease of Use:  

By putting all of the general features in the program window, PQ developers have created easy–to–use conversion software. Nothing about PQ’s DVD/Video to iPod Suite is difficult to use.

Quality of DVD:  

Regardless of the DVD type or origin (i.e. a homemade DVD differs from a commercial release), the converted files from the DVDs we used to test PQ DVD, looked and sounded great.

Quality of Video:  

PQ’s video conversion is near perfect. Throughout our testing process, video conversions were just as clear as the original—in several cases, the copy actually looked better than the original. However, in one of our tests, the picture was a little stretched and the audio was slightly behind the video. We immediately retested with the same file. The results of the second and third tests were right back to PQ quality. We concluded that the cause might have been due to our system running a similar application at the same time.

Speed of Conversion:  

PQ DVD converts video files in less than half the time it would take to watch them. DVDs take a little longer to convert, just over half of the playback time. Considering the high quality of PQ DVD conversions, the conversion speed is quite remarkable.

Help/Support:  

PQ’s support is very dependable. The guide and FAQ are very helpful and informative. Their email support is also reliable.

Summary:  

PQ DVD is terrific. It's only drawback is its speed—which is still impressive—but it isn’t the fastest software we tested. Overall, PQ DVD is the top DVD and video conversion software we could find. It has a great, easy–to–use set of features and it converts DVDs and video files perfectly. In addition, PQ’s all–in–one layout provides a convenience that should be adopted by all its competitors.
